Community involvement

At Sutton Public School, the teachers, students, parents and carers have a strong and close relationship. You can become part of our school community by getting involved and supporting the Parents and Citizen's Association, also known as the P&C. Our school values strong partnerships with our families and community. Parents and carers can get involved through our Parents and Citizens Association (P&C) or by volunteering at our school. Your time and support help make our school a better place for everyone.

Parents and Citizens Association (P&C)

Our P&C is an inclusive group, welcoming people to attend meetings and get involved in events. Attending meetings, helping at events, and attending school events are all great ways to support the school and contribute to our school's future. It's also a wonderful way to meet other families and staff members. We assist with school planning, fundraising, events and volunteering. Our P&C works in partnership with our school to promote the interests of our school community. We would love to have you on board!

Join our P&C

The P&C Annual General Meeting (AGM) is held in Term 2. Every position in the team is vacated and any current member of the P&C can stand/nominate for a position. You become a financial member by a gold coin payment. This can be done at anytime, and it covers a calendar year (January to December). This also gives you voting rights at the AGM when standing for a position, or electing a person for the role. Our P&C plays a vital role in Sutton Public School.

P&C Events and Services

Each year the P&C hosts several events and fundraising opportunities. The event calendar each year changes. In 2025, we have held Sutton Country Fair, Mother's Day breakfast, election BBQ, food stall at Wamboin Fireworks Night, Father's Day breakfast, Grandparent's Day and a Bunnings BBQ. We still have some exciting events to happen this year with our Colour Run, end of year raffle, and picnic day boxes. We are passionate about our children, our school and our community.

P&C meetings

P&C meetings are held twice a term, with dates being advised in the school newsletter and on the website. It is a great way to meet other parents, carers and teachers, and to hear about what is happening around the school.

Volunteer at our school

Helping out at school is a great way to get involved in your school community.

Volunteer opportunities include:

• helping in the canteen
• getting involved in the P&C
• volunteering on sports days and at other school events
• helping supervise excursions.
